Multi-touch in the air!

This is a really cool new multi-touch demo by Microsoft but instead of touching something you make gestures in the air. However it does mean that you have to by under a cardboard dome. It is always good to see Microsoft experimenting with this technology and just to remind everybody Apple did not invent multi-touch Microsoft did because MS has been spending around 7 years developing Surface.

Microsoft starts finding it’s next generation of programmers

Microsoft has ensured that it will have some of the best developers in the world for years to come. With some of their veteran engineers coming up to retirement it’s makes perfect sense to encourage younger generations to get involved with software and web development as well as setting up a scouting network to find their next engineers. Microsoft has recently launched their new program called Dream Spark. Dream Spark allows college, high school and university to get a whole host of development products for free. These include, Visual Studio 2008 Professional, Expression Studio 2, Windows Server 2008 Standard and more! If you are a high school student a school administrator has to register your school and then you have to download the products from the Dream Spark site using your Windows Live ID (www.dreamspark.com) or if you go to a college or university you have to find your establishment from a list and then prove that you study there. I think it’s a great idea and governments should have something like this years ago.
